RANG PANCHAMI  SIGNIFICANCE

Rang Panchami is a Hindu festival dedicated to the gods and goddesses, according to mythology. It is stated that on this day, positive energy is spread around the world by using colours. On this day, it is said that the colours that are applied to each other fly into the sky.

Rang Panchami usually falls after five days of Holi festivity in rest of the India. Even in some temples of Indore and Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, it is Rang Panchami which culminates the Holi festivity. Panchami is celebrated in Bhopal with as much enthusiasm as Holi.

People celebrate by throwing fragrant red powder (gulal) and splashing coloured water, etc. on others. It is celebrated along with Holi which appears 5 days before. Instead of usual colours, Dulendi is used in Rangpanchami celebrations.

The Hindu festival is revered immensely in areas like Madhya Pradesh, the states of Maharashtra, and various other parts of Northern India. Rang Panchami, as the name says represents the five components that make up the human body and the cosmos.
